Short Biography

Rhoda is a first-year Information Systems PhD student at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. She is a graduate research assistant on the iHARP project under the supervision of Dr. Vandana Janeja. She previously completed her Master’s in Business Analytics from the University of Massachusetts Boston as well as a Bachelor of Science in Conservation Biology from Makerere University, Kampala Uganda. Her research interests are in Large Language Models, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning, with a research goal of developing tools for community preparedness/adaptation to climate change.


Research Summary

Rhoda’s research explores the potential of Large Language models to bridge the gap between scientific climate data and actionable information to support community preparedness and adaptation to climate change. This involves researching the optimal architecture, training, and evaluation of LLM ensembles to provide reliable insights for policymakers and communities.
